If you’ve already been confirmed as a Modern Mouse designer, hooray and thank you! Here are instructions for getting your products to us and on our shelves.

Tagging, Packaging, Marketing Materials

Tagging

• Please ensure to pack, tag and price your products so that we can easily identify what each item is, particularly for jewelry.
• Modern Mouse will affix an inventory tracking tag or sticker that measures 0.5″ x 1.5″ (the size of a return address label) to each of your items. We’ll use a sticker if there’s room for it; otherwise we’ll tie a tag onto your item. Our stickers/tags will include pricing info on it as well as a product code, but it helps to have your price on it too for redundancy and to help us avoid errors in pricing.

Packaging

• Jewelry artists are asked to include jewelry-sized gift boxes. Please feel free to brand the boxes with your logo.
• We have lots of slatwall space (the gridded panel walls to which you can affix specialty hooks), so if your product packaging is conducive to hanging on a hook, we can do that too!

Samples

• If your product requires a sample/tester in order to better demonstrate its purpose, please consider including one for the store. You can list it on the itemized inventory spreadsheet as “NFS” (Not For Sale) so that we can be sure it gets returned to you at the end of your consignment period.

Marketing Materials

• Modern Mouse makes its designers’ business cards available for the taking on our card table near the front register.

Drop off hours and directions are as follows. Please give me an idea of when you’ll be coming — email, text or phone call is fine (store phone is 510-814-8830) — so I know to expect you.

• Parking
  • Parking is free and there is usually plenty of it. The closest spaces to Modern Mouse are between Beverly’s and Anna’s Linens. Simply continue down Park St, turn right into the 2nd parking lot entrance, drive straight ahead past Bed, Bath & Beyond and you’ll see Beverly’s on your right.
  • Walk down the corridor between Beverly’s and Anna’s Linens, turn right when you see the fountain, and Modern Mouse is the 2nd store on your right!
