Tomoko Maruyama at Modern Mouse!

We let out a contented sigh when we first laid eyes on Tomoko Maruyama’s line of prints and greeting cards with their sweet, delicate and whimsical illustrations of San Francisco. They remind us of how happy and lucky we are to live here in the Bay Area, and we further appreciate Tomoko’s unique interpretation of the city’s lines, shapes and colors. Formerly a sports teacher for children and seniors, as well as a lifeguard in Tokyo, Tomoko found her true calling when she moved to the US to study design and then finally started her business in just March of this year. And we’re glad she did. Welcome to Modern Mouse, Ms. Tomoko Maruyama, and thanks for sharing your work with us!

Tiny Sparks Design at Modern Mouse!

Tiny Sparks Design made a huge hit with the crowds when it debuted at the Bazaar Bizarre craft fair at Maker Faire this past May. We loved their stuff so much that we came home with one of our very own pieces when we saw them again at Renegade Craft Fair! Tiny Sparks Design is the work of furniture maker, Academy of Art University instructor and super nice guy Brad Boggie of San Francisco. We’re so pleased to be able to offer some of his screen printed woodwork in our shop! Consider this fair warning that if you don’t make it to the shop early, these beautifully made, original pieces will be gone before ya know it. Thanks and welcome, Tiny Sparks Design!

Rachel Austin at Modern Mouse!

Artist Rachel Austin is joining us from Portland, Oregon, ladies and gentlemen. Rachel makes the most lovely original paintings, and we’re honored to have some of her artwork on map pendants and pocket mirrors, and possibly some prints, right here in our shop! Thanks Rachel!

Hamburgerpanda at Modern Mouse!

Thank you to Hamburgerpanda for joining the Modern Mouse family of designers! We love so many of the characters Cindy dreams up, but our heart especially melts for Hamburgerpanda’s Manabot, who lives in the wreckage of an undersea robot factory. AND MAKES A ROBOTEE OUT OF SPARE PARTS TO KEEP HIM COMPANY. Ack! And there’s more. So much more. Take Scuba Cat for example. And a bespectacled bear! Oh, it’s just too much. We can’t wait to get artist Cindy Yep’s quirky cute prints and cards on our shelves! And did we mention, she’s from San Francisco? Thanks Hamburgerpanda, and welcome!
